I write mostly fantasy, but occasionally dabble in other genres. \u00a0I served as an assistant editor for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nightmare-magazine.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Nightmare Magazine<\/em><\/a>\u00a0from 2012 to 2017 and have coedited two anthologies. My story &#8220;Frog Song&#8221; in\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/laksamedia.com\/strangers-among-us-an-anthology-with-a-cause\/\">Strangers Among Us<\/a><\/em>\u00a0was nominated for a 2017 Aurora Award in the Best Short Fiction category.<\/p>\n<p>For fun I enjoy cycling, Orange Theory, camping, hiking in the mountains, bike rides, board games, and, of course, reading. Sometimes I paint my individual toenails different colours. I&#8217;m a member of Calgary&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ifwa.wordpress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Imaginative Fiction Writers Association<\/a>\u00a0(not to be confused with\u00a0<em>unimaginative<\/em>\u00a0fiction writers) and have blogged with the\u00a0<a href=\" http:\/\/www.inkpunks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Inkpunks<\/a>, though not recently.<\/p>\n<p>So far I&#8217;ve avoided Facebook, but am pretty addicted to Twitter, where you can find me at:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/erikaholt\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">@erikaholt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><b><i>\u00a0<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I live in Calgary, Alberta, the city where I was born and still love despite five-minute-long summers and constant airings of &#8220;Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)&#8221; during the Calgary Stampede.
